UVA URSI As early as the 13th Century, it was reported by Marco Polo that the Chinese physicians had been using Uva Ursi as support for kidney and urinary health. The American Indians used it as well to support kidney health, sexual health, and gum and mouth health. Uva Ursi leaves are high in Arbutin which is absorbed and unchanged and is excreted by the kidneys. Tannic Acid is in the leaves and berries of Uva Ursi and this herb helps to balance the pH of urine that is high in acid. It stimulates kidney activity.
