Citrus limonum

The familiar essence of lemon conjures up images of cleanliness and freshness. The oil is obtained by expression from the outer part of the fresh peel. As a very powerful natural stimulant, lemon is exceptionally effective in the diffuser to reduce the effects of mental fatigue and listlessness while regulating the body’s natural immune system and resistance levels. The antiseptic qualities of lemon make it a natural alternative to synthetic household cleansers as it effectively purifies stale air, kills bacterial and freshens almost any atmosphere. In steam facials, it is useful for the treatment of acne and congested oily skin.

PROPERTIES: antiseptic, antibacterial, physical stimulant, skin tonic, circulatory stimulant, refreshing, mental stimulant, immune stimulant.

BLENDS WELL WITH: Lavender, Neroli, Grapefruit, Rose, Sandalwood Geranium, Eucalyptus, Orange, Rosemary.

PRECAUTIONS: Phototoxic, avoid use six hours before prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

For a cool, refreshing bath: The skin tonic effects can leave one feeling fully refreshed. Add seven drops to a tub of cool but not cold water. For productivity and concentration: Add ten droops to an essential oil burner or lamp ring diffuser to increase energy and motivation. For an uplifting massage: Blend twelve drops with one oz. massage oil to stimulate the mind and energize the body.

For household cleansing: The antiseptic and antibacterial actions make this s highly effective cleanser. Dilute five drops in one gallon of warm water or add three drops directly to a wash cloth or sponge.
