Grapefruit Essential Oil
Citrus paradisi
The deliciously sweet essence of grapefruit is obtained by cold expression of the peel. The fresh, familiar aroma is joyous and uplifting. Grapefruit is well known for its cleansing and toning properties. It is wonderfully effective at reviving congested, oily skin and reducing cellulite and water retention. Its powerful but gentle antiviral properties make it very useful as a natural replacement for synthetic household cleansers.
PROPERTIES: Antiseptic, uplifting, disinfecting, toning, purifying, cleansing.
BLENDS WELL WITH:All citrus oils, Geranium, Lavender, Neroli, Rosemary, Eucalyptus.
PRECAUTIONS: Phototoxic, avoid exposure to direct sunlight for six hours after use.
For an invigorating bath: Add eight drops to a cool bath to refresh, cleanse, and revive the body.
For a toning massage: To stimulate poor circulation, reduce water retention and regenerate the nervous system, add ten drops grapefruit to one oz. massage oil.
For a cleansing steam facial: Use three drops in a steam facial to gently cleanse, tone and refresh the skin.
For household cleaning: Impart the fresh fragrance of grapefruit and disinfect the bacteria and germs. Add five drops to one gallon warm water. Use to clean floors, kitchens and bathrooms.
For a refreshing atmosphere: Add five drops grapefruit and five drops lemon to two oz. water in an atomizer. Can also be used to refresh the face in times of fatigue.
